\n \t<\/a>\n\t\t <\/div>\n Admiral Mom and Captain Dad said that we would all relax and enjoy a beautiful spring at home this year.\u00a0 Boy, they were wrong.\u00a0 It has been anything but relaxing.\u00a0 Let me explain.\u00a0<\/p>\n\u00a0As the Cruise Director<\/em>, my job is to make sure things are ready for future trips.\u00a0 We have been busy with visitors staying with us at the house (Cousin Gwenn and husband Jamie from Philly and Jeannie, owner of Miss Ruby<\/strong> the beautiful red hulled trawler we met several years ago).\u00a0 Captain Dad has been doing house and yard work as well as cleaning and waxing the Minnie Winnie Miss Daisy <\/strong>(our 24 ft Winnebago RV), \n\t\t <\/p>\n The really big news is the new addition to the Crew.\u00a0 Her name is Addie.\u00a0 She is a beautiful 6 yr. old Sheltie who was rescued from a puppy mill in Arkansas last year.\u00a0 She is very shy and gets spooked by anything new.\u00a0 As such, she could not fill the security officer position left open by Daisy.\u00a0 She is not brave enough. \n\t\t <\/p>\n By the way, Homer put in for the security officer position again<\/span> in 2013 but was rejected again<\/span> by Captain Dad.\u00a0 He said Homer did not have the right temperament (too crabby), correct attitude (too bossy), and wrong personality (\u201ca little Hitler\u201d).\u00a0 Homer disagreed with Capt. Dad by biting his finger when closing his cage door.\u00a0 \n\t\t <\/p>\n Anyway, back to Addie.\u00a0 Since she is a \u201cRescue\u201d, she will only be with us for a short time.\u00a0 The Fresh Start Sheltie Rescue Association (www. Mysheltie.com). is trying to find her a \u201cforever home\u201d.\u00a0 In the meantime, Admiral Mom is working with her to help with her shyness by going on lots of walks and car rides.\u00a0 We take her to dog obedience class every Tuesday night.\u00a0\u00a0 Even though I know everything taught in class, I go along because it involves getting lots of treats!!!\u00a0 As an official \u201cMentor Dog\u201d (Captain Dad gave me this title), I have the solemn duty of showing Addie how to behave boldly, without fear, and to not be shy.\u00a0 It is the perfect job for me.\u00a0 Did I mention it involves getting lots of treats?\u00a0 That\u2019s the best part!\u00a0 Captain Dad said that I have been doing such a good job that I now have to go on a diet; I have gained two pounds.\u00a0 It is a tough job but somebody has to do it.\u00a0 \n\t\t <\/p>\n As far as cruising plans go, Admiral Mom said we will be spending the next year near home in Tennessee exploring the lakes and rivers of the southeast.\u00a0 She has asked me to plan weekly trips on the TN and Cumberland Rivers as well as trips to Chattanooga, Knoxville, Nashville, and Guntersville.\u00a0 \n\t\t <\/p>\n By the way, as \u201cMentor Dog\u201d I also have to show Addie how to cruise and live aboard Idyll Time<\/strong>.\u00a0 We have been out once aboard Idyll Time<\/strong> overnight and Addie did really good. \n\t\t\n \t<\/a>\n\t\t <\/div>\n Idyll Out<\/strong> (our17 ft. Wellcraft), Idyll Time<\/strong> (our 48 ft. Krogen), and Time Out<\/strong> (our 11 ft. Boston Whaler).\u00a0 Nate is on a diet (he\u2019s way too fat!!), and Homer is not doing anything (as usual) except being mean and unsociable (so what\u2019s new?). \n\t\t\n \t<\/a>\n\t\t <\/div>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n\n \t<\/a>\n\t\t <\/div>\n <\/p>\n\n \t<\/a>\n\t\t <\/div>\n <\/p>\n\n \t<\/a>\n\t\t <\/div>\n <\/p>\n\n \t<\/a>\n\t\t <\/div>\n I will keep you posted about all of this over the next couple of months. \u00a0We also may have some guests come cruising with us so that should be really fun.<\/p>\n
